Option Construction Corp. is a proudly locally owned company based in Spruce Grove, Alberta. We specialize in serving the commercial, light industrial, and downstream oil and gas sectors, with projects spanning across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
We are currently seeking motivated and experienced construction labourers to become part of our growing team.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while performing tasks
-
Demonstrate a strong commitment to all safety policies, procedures, and practices
-
Participate in site preparation, including setting up safety barriers, clearing debris, and securing the work area
-
Assist in demolition activities, such as removing drywall, flooring, framing, fixtures, or other existing materials
-
Load, unload, organize, and maintain inventory of construction and renovation materials
-
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
-
Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials for framing, drywall, flooring, etc.
-
Assist with framing and structural repairs, including installation of new walls, windows, or doors
-
Support plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-ins by coordinating with trades and providing labour support
-
Help with drywall installation, taping, mudding, and sanding
-
Aid in flooring installation, including tile, laminate, or carpet under supervision
-
Assist in painting and finishing tasks, including surface prep, priming, and cleanup
-
Learn and train under the supervision of certified tradespeople and site supervisors
-
Provide support to carpenters, cement finishers, and petroleum mechanics
-
Take ownership of site cleanliness through effective housekeeping practices
-
Follow directions accurately and apply feedback constructively
-
Participate actively in daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings
-
Maintain a solid understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment
-
Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
-
Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success
Position Requirements & Skills
-
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safe work practices at all times
-
Clear and effective verbal communication skills in English
-
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
-
Physically fit and capable of lifting to 50 lbs and performing physically demanding labour
-
Willingness to travel and work out of town for extended durations as needed
-
Ability to pass pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol testing
Qualifications
-
A valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract is considered an asset
-
A minimum of three years of experience in general commercial construction is required
-
Valid safety certifications such as CSTS, Fall Protection, and Elevated Work Platform are considered strong assets
-
Completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent is considered an asset
