We're currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our general practice clinic at Primary Plus Medical (Chaparral) for a full-time 18 months contract position. While this is a contract opportunity, we’re a growing organization that’s always looking for exceptional nurses to join our network long-term.
The LPN will play a critical role in supporting patients, performing hands-on clinical skills, providing patient education and supporting the administrative functions of the clinic. The ideal candidate must prioritize providing an exceptional patient-first experience and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team are essential.

Responsibilities
-
Perform patient intake, including vital signs and preliminary assessments
-
Conduct and assist with clinical procedures such as wound dressings and suture removals, ear irrigations/flushes, immunizations and injections, blood glucose checks and specimen collection (urine dips, throat swabs, etc.)

Educate patients on treatment plans, health management, and follow-up care

Prepare and maintain clinic rooms, ensuring equipment is stocked and sanitized

Assist in administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling and patient record management

Support medical providers during procedures and examinations
-
Coordinate patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and test results
-
Serve as a point of contact for patient inquiries and guidance
-
Uphold clinic standards for safety, cleanliness, and confidentiality
-
Collaborate with the clinic team to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
-
2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred

Current LPN license in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)

Proficiency in basic clinical procedures relevant to general practice

Experience with EMR systems (Accuro/Netcare) and MS Office
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask in a busy environment
Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care

Calm and supportive demeanor with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns

Proficiency in clinical documentation and computer systems
