BRANCH LEADER | RED DEER

The Branch Leader works to align our Red Deer team through guidance, instruction, coaching, and positive leadership to achieve organizational goals. They are solution oriented and encourage continuous improvement in external and internal client service. A Branch Leader fosters an environment that promotes effective interpersonal relationships and professional growth of their team. The role is responsible for overall branch production retention and growth as well as recruitment, motivating a team and performance management.

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Red Deer

Work Arrangement: In-Office

Primary duties include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Promote an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture

  • Provide guidance and feedback regarding performance as well as facilitating continuous learning and development of the team

  • Guide and support the development of team leaders

  • Facilitate workflow management and drive strategic initiatives

  • Prepare regular reports for senior leaders– new sales, retention, production etc.

  • Work with your regional leadership team and peers to develop business strategies which deliver outperformance.

  • Implement and execute on these plans by leveraging your team’s talents and skills sets and through regional collaboration.

  • Motivate employees to participate in company objectives and continuously keep them informed of changes or new directions.

  • Support and assist in the company marketing and sales strategies

  • Communicate with company representatives on new products, training, sales targets and service standards

  • Responsible for ensuring that quality of service meets expected standards.

  • Analyze and resolve service and sales problems and follow up with clients on escalated issues as required.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our key insurer partners.

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring all branch level operating and expense budgets

  • Required to travel within the region as needed

  • Other duties as required

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • 5 – 7 years of related experience in a leadership role in brokerage operations

  • Demonstrated experience managing a team and effectively handling employee issues and performance is considered an asset

  • Completion of post-secondary education is an asset

  • Alberta Insurance License required

  • CAIB or CIP designation, or working towards is considered an asset

  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of the customer (internal and external).

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong team player and collaborator

  • Ability to manage projects or initiatives outside of typical areas of responsibilities with multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities; develops optimal solutions that maximize organizational performance
