Job Description – Senior Data Engineer
Role: Senior Data Engineer Experience: 10+ Years Location: Markham, ON, Canada Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days/Week Onsite) Mandatory: Tuesday & Wednesday One additional flexible day (Monday/Thursday/Friday) Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, AWS, and Python to design and build scalable cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering enterprise data projects, developing high-performance data pipelines, and working with modern cloud technologies in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Core, AWS, and Python. Develop scalable ELT/ETL solutions with a focus on performance and maintainability. Work with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Aurora databases. Build automation using Python, Shell scripting, and Terraform. Develop solutions using Snowsight and Streamlit. Implement workflow orchestration using AWS Managed Airflow (MWAA) and Zena. Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver data solutions. Optimize SQL queries and ensure data quality and reliability.
Required Skills
10+ years of professional Data Engineering experience with multiple end-to-end project deliveries. 5+ years of hands-on experience with: Snowflake dbt Core/Cloud AWS Cloud Strong programming experience in Python and Java. Expertise in SQL, Python, Shell Scripting, and Terraform. Strong knowledge of Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Amazon Aurora. Experience with Snowsight, Streamlit, AWS Managed Airflow (MWAA), and Zena. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
