Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Clinical Dietitians, the incumbent is responsible for the provision and promotion of optimal nutritional care to patients through the following responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care. Computer Database. Nutrition Screening. Education. Nutrient Analysis.
Experience
Two years' experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in the areas of direct patient care, nutrition screening, diet modifications, and patient education preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Successful completion of a recognized Dietetic Technician program (or equivalent, e.g., Bachelor of Science degree, Human Nutritional Sciences) required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is recommended.
Qualifications And Skills
Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values. Must have a basic knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic nutrition interventions. CBORD Diet Office knowledge preferred. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, effective organizational skills, independent work practices, initiative and flexibility, critical analysis skills, and computer literacy and proficiency.
Physical Requirements
Position requires a high-degree of patience and interest in the special needs of people with illnesses. Daily deadlines.
