In the Risk Sharing Pool (RSP) team, we are accountable for ensuring the eligibility of the risks ceded and the accuracy of our financial reporting to the Facility Association.
We are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Associate at the head office in Markham, responsible for supporting the RSP team objectives. As an Associate, you will be working closely with other departments, such as claims and our Broker Partners, to verify information used for our RSP reporting.

What you'll do
- Responsible for completing underwriting reviews for potential Ontario RSP policies to ensure compliance with Aviva underwriting rule and Facility Association eligibility criteria. Cede Ontario risks to the provincial Risk Sharing Pools from central cede lists. Deceding risks from the Risk Sharing Pool for all RSP provinces.
- Analyze and review RSP Large Loss Claims. Ensure accuracy of data submitted is correct and reflect the claim system(s).
- Identify any unusual financial reporting patterns and raise them to Sr. Underwriters.
- Ordering Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) and Prior Carrier Reports (DASH).
- Facilitate Broker calls for Underwriting, Claims inquiries, and confirmations. Take meeting minutes and distribute to the RSP team.
- Analyze and correct daily Facility Claim errors using various systems: FA Portal, ClaimCenter, Broker Portal and PolicyCenter.
- Confirm/Review limited RSP Large Losses – May require communication with Claim Adjusters or Claims Leads.
What you'll bring
- Minimum 1-2 years of insurance experience
- Knowledge of Ontario Auto underwriting
- Strong decision making, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and administrative skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Highly motivated and hard-working
- Knowledge of various systems: Broker Portal, Policy Center, The General, Claim Centre, FA Portal
