About the role
True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for customer service-driven and reliable Bartenders to join our team at The Burton Cummings Theatre.
As part of the Bartending team, you will deliver efficient service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while exceeding guest expectations in a fast-paced environment.
What to be excited for in this role:
- Ensure the proper portioning and service of alcoholic beverages.
- Verify inventory before and after each shift, and support set up and breakdown of work area.
- Uphold open communication with all working teams.
- Ensure supervisor is informed of issues that arise, and support resolutions.
- Support proper inventory control, cash handling, cleanliness, equipment operation, and safety.
- Willingness to work outside as needed.
- Perform other duties as required that align with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization.
What we need from you:
- 2+ years of experience in a bartending position as an asset.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirit, and familiarity with standard drink recipes.
- Familiarity with POS systems and digital registers.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently solve customer concerns with the utmost professionalism.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Current Smart Choices Certification or willingness to obtain.
