Legal Assistant - Litigation
Richmond Hill, Ontario
Our client, a well established and friendly law firm, located in Richmond Hill, is looking to add a Litigation Legal Assistant to its team. This is a permanent full time role. This role is available because of growth!
While specialized training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have a foundation in litigation and a keen interest in learning. An upbeat personality, confidence, organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are all required in order to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains an efficient and organized file management system
- Produces correspondence and documents both independently and from dictation
- Processes billing and invoicing
- Assists in management of practice including opening files, arranging meetings, filing court documents, scheduling hearing dates, communicating with clients, etc.
- Communicates with clients, court personnel, and service providers
- Performs general office and clerical duties
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate must have exceptional organizational skills and demonstrate the following:
- A certificate/diploma in an accredited Law Clerk/Legal Administration/Paralegal Program is preferred but is not a requirement.
- A minimum of 6 months experience working as a Litigation Assistant in a Litigation practice
- Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with One-key, Justice Services Online and CaseCentre is an asset, but training will be provided
