About the role
Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario’s cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches.
The overall function of the Accountant – Accounts Receivables is to process business transactions across all resorts, including customer billings, credits & payments and to provide related accounting support. The position reports directly to the Controller.
Do you have :
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting in either an accounting firm or industry
- Post-secondary certificate or degree in Business with accounting major, or equivalent
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent professional verbal and writing skills
- Experience using accounting software
- Experience using enterprise
Can you:
- Demonstrated track-record of adhering to systems of controls
- Demonstrated track-record of flexibility and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated track-record of meeting deadlines and working independently
Job Responsibilities:
- Billing & Receivables
- Review and reconcile resort invoices posted for services rendered including a wide range of resort fees and services.
- Daily point-of-sale reconciliations & posting (includes retail, food and beverage)
- Daily rental deposits and income reconciliations
- Review, reconcile and post cottage sale deals, ensuring all supporting documentation are in place.
- Monitor resort maintenance tasks for resolution and potential billing (ex. Cleaning fees, seasonal billings, parking fees, etc.)
- Monitor Accounts Receivable, taking a lead on payment application and credits
- Review and post any required credits ensuring back-up support for approval.
- Work with customers and resorts on various billing inquiries.
- Prepare and distribute periodic resort fee billing and monthly customer statements
- Work with resort administration for annual update of customer files and collection of related documents, such as Occupancy Agreements and cottage insurance
- Cash Management
- Process and post all forms of deposits.
- Process periodic payment reminder notice fees and any early-payment incentives
- Ensure that the end of day sales and the point of sale entries are posted into the correct general ledger and verify that it matches with the Moneris system and the bank.
- Process all owner related refunds including cancelled deals, lien payouts and consignment payouts.
