Our headquarters in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking a Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure & Operations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's IT infrastructure and operations. This role plays a critical role in developing and executing strategies related to cloud infrastructure, and security, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business objectives and drive efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 20 across helpdesk, site engineers, and infrastructure support, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the team, promoting excellent service delivery and ensuring timely response to end-user inquiries and incidents.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentoring to team members to foster their professional growth and development.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure and support services.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization.

  • Manage networking infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless, VLANs, and site connectivity across all locations.

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.

  • Plan and execute infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, patch management, and capacity planning, while minimizing disruptions to business operations.

  • Monitor and analyze infrastructure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement proactive measures to optimize efficiency and scalability.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Cloud Operations on hybrid connectivity and cloud integration initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Security team to implement and enforce security measures and policies, protecting the organization's IT assets and data.

  • Manage 24/7 support operations and on-call escalation processes, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.

  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure at various sites.

  • Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure that performance targets are met or exceeded.

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex or high-priority incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including knowledge base articles, runbooks, network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

  • Develop and enforce IT infrastructure policies, procedures, and standards to ensure operational effectiveness, security, and compliance.

  • Monitor service desk and infrastructure performance metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.

  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate procurement activities for IT infrastructure components and services.

  • Manage and optimize the IT infrastructure and support budget, including resource allocation, vendor management, and cost control measures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align infrastructure solutions with organizational needs.

  • Provide regular reporting and communication to stakeholders on the performance, availability, and security of the IT infrastructure.

Education/Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, operations, or systems/network administration.

  • Proven experience in managing and leading IT teams in a technical hands-on capacity.

  • Experience managing a helpdesk or technical support team.

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization.

  • Strong networking skills, including switches, routers, wireless, VLANs, and site connectivity.

  • Solid understanding of ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.

  • Experience managing 24/7 support operations across multiple sites.

  • Experience managing service level agreements and achieving performance targets.

  • Proficiency in IT service desk and infrastructure monitoring tools (Zendesk and Connectwise Automate preferred).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.

  • Experience in vendor management and procurement processes.

  • Proficiency in infrastructure planning, project management, and budgeting.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.

  • ITIL certification is preferred.

  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and M365 administration is preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or food/agriculture industry is preferred.

  • Experience supporting warehouse and greenhouse operations is preferred.

Salary Range is $125K/yr CAD to $135K/yr CAD
