Painter/Carpenter Assistant- Full Time

We are seeking a skilled and creative Full-Time Painter/Carpenter Assistant to join our Facilities team. This versatile role focuses heavily on carpentry and construction support, with additional painting and maintenance duties as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform light to moderate carpentry work, including framing, finishing, drywall patching, and custom builds
• Design, build, and assemble creative event elements such as backdrops, signage structures, booths, and décor pieces
• Set up and dismantle staging, displays, props, and temporary installations for events and programs
• Reconfigure rooms and spaces by moving furniture, staging décor, and installing temporary structures
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently
• Complete interior and exterior painting projects as assigned
• Support the Special Projects Manager with facility improvements and day-to-day tasks
• Assist with general maintenance and ensure work areas are safe, clean, and organized

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience in carpentry, painting, construction, or a related trade is preferred
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to follow design sketches or verbal instructions and bring creative builds to life
• Comfortable working with power tools, hand tools, and workshop equipment
• Physically able to work at height, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods
• Willingness to perform a variety of maintenance and manual tasks
• Understanding of safety procedures and proper tool usage
• Experience or interest in event production, staging, or set construction is a strong asset
