Logistics Coordinator
Job Description
As a Logistics Coordinator you will play a crucial role in our daily operations. Your responsibilities will include planning and scheduling transportation for goods for best use of truck/route in a fast paced environment.
Primary Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Ensures shipping guidelines are adhered to according to client and company specifications and requirements

Coordinate shipments and communicate booking information and instructions to relevant parties.

Builds and maintains relationships with various transportation companies, including maintaining cargo insurance, WSIB coverage letters, etc. - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with carriers ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues. - Proactively provide current knowledge of freight rates and factors affecting them and works to optimize cost efficiency.

Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to streamline logistics operations and improve overall performance.

Tracks shipments and provides updates to stakeholders to ensure delivery deadlines are met.

Manages customer expectations by ensuring timely communication of shipments/Units status and providing necessary details, updates, and solutions to address client needs.
Experience and Technical Skills Required:
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation or similar industry
- Strong problem-solving skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook, and capable of using other logistics-related software.
- Skilled in navigating transportation provider websites and platforms to manage bookings and shipments efficiently.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, permit requirements, and the ability to ensure compliance in all shipments.
- Strong ability to identify issues, review data, and develop effective solutions to improve logistics processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of shipping procedures, including international shipping protocols, packaging, and documentation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, highly developed organizational skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive and productive working relationships at all levels of the organization
