The Ministry of Social Services, Finance Branch is seeking a highly organized, responsible and efficient individual to work as a Collections Clerk, in the Accounts Receivable Collection Unit.
As a Collections Clerk, your duties include interacting with Income Assistance clients by mail and telephone for the purpose of negotiating or establishing a repayment plan for the recovery of overpayments and following up on payment plans that have not been adhered to. You will also manage the overpayments in the Linkedin system for the Child and Family Program. You will accurately apply payments to client files on the various systems.
The successful candidate will also prepare proof of claims for consumer proposals, bankruptcies and orderly payment of debts. You will reconcile quarterly reports from the Canada Revenue Agency - Set Off program and review delinquent accounts to determine which accounts are deemed uncollectible and submitted for write-off.
Our candidate of choice will be flexible and a highly motivated individual who enjoys a fast-paced, challenging environment. Your knowledge of applicable computer hardware and software applications, terminology and the ability to accurately merge dunning letters to update client accounts will contribute to your success in this challenging position.
A certificate or diploma in office administration and/or several years’ experience in a collections/call center environment would be considered an asset.
