Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven Journeyman Plumber with Gas "B" to join our team at Suncor Base Plant.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Liaise daily with Building Operations Administrators and building occupants.
• Process work notifications, manage open notifications, and document service request closures using SAP.
• Isolate and de-isolate mechanical piping components for heating, cooling, and utility systems.
• Respond to urgent service requests while carrying a cellular phone or two-way radio.
• Coordinate utility system shutdowns and startups for projects in accordance with the Safe Work Permit System.
• Collaborate with team members to continuously improve operations.
• Maintain current knowledge of company products, services, and policies.
• Adhere to all provincial OH&S regulations and Convergint safety policies while operating equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with the Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Attend and actively participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Convergint positively at all times.
• Demonstrate our commitment to being our customers' best service provider, ensuring Convergint remains the customer's first choice for service.

What You'll Need

• Journeyman Plumber Certificate required.
• Journeyman Gas "B" Certificate preferred; Gas "B" Apprentice considered at minimum.
• Commercial and/or industrial plumbing experience is considered an asset.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Advise the supervisor when equipment operation or working conditions present potential safety hazards.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components using appropriate test equipment and hand tools.
• Inspect mechanical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and required repairs while ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
• Execute all work in accordance with provincial regulations, industry best practices, and company health and safety policies.
• Plan the layout and installation of mechanical systems based on job specifications and applicable codes.
• Maintain apprenticeship records and documentation as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience in isolating and de-isolating mechanical piping systems for heating, cooling, and utilities.
• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems and associated equipment.
• Boiler and steam system installation and maintenance experience is considered an asset.
• Travel between job sites is required; a valid driver's licence is required.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of fixed building systems, wash car facilities, and hydronic heating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and urgent work requests.
• Thorough understanding of OH&S regulations and safe work practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Confined Space Entry and Respiratory Protective Equipment training are considered assets.
• Completion of OSSA Basic Safety Orientation or Common Safety Orientation is required.
