ThePlanning & Reliability Managerleads the strategy and execution of maintenance programs across IREN’s Canadian data centre operations. This role is responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure the highest levels of reliability and operational performance.

Working within a mission-critical environment, the Planning & Reliability Manager establishes maintenance governance, implements reliability strategies, and ensures regulatory compliance while optimizing the performance and lifecycle of critical facility systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining the stability, efficiency, and long-term resilience of IREN’s data centre infrastructure.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering, or related technical field (preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance program management within mission-critical environments (data centres, hospitals, industrial facilities).

  • 3+ years of experience managing CMMS platforms and vendor-driven maintenance

  • Familiarity with applicable safety and regulatory standards (WorkSafeBC, CEC, CSA, ISO) and maintenance compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage vendors, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintenance Program Management

  • Lead IREN’s asset management framework and maintenance governance.
  • Develop and manage a 52-week maintenance schedule for critical electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Oversee and optimize the CMMS, including asset hierarchy, maintenance tasks, and reporting.
  • Manage preventative, predictive, corrective, regulatory, and client-driven maintenance activities.

Reliability & Optimization

  • Conduct Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) assessments and analyze asset performance trends.
  • Support lifecycle planning through failure analysis, reliability metrics (MTTF/MTBF), and cost analysis.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for critical operations.

Vendor & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate third-party vendors and review scopes of work.
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC OHS regulations, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA standards, ISO standards, and local regulations.
  • Manage permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, change management, and audit documentation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain asset records including warranties, service logs, and inventory tracking.
  • Produce regular reports on maintenance performance, asset health, and backlog.
  • Lead or support incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Budget & Team Support

  • Track maintenance costs, support operating budgets, and assist with capital planning.

  • Optimize spare parts inventory and provide guidance to maintenance planners while promoting continuous improvement.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Competitive salary ($120,000 and $145,000/annum) finalized based on experience and impact
