Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, CMM Inspector holds a key technical role in verifying the dimensional and geometric conformance of manufactured part features requiring CMM-level precision. This position is responsible for programming, executing, and analyzing complex inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) technology to ensure strict adherence to all engineering and customer-specific quality requirements.
In this role, you will:
- Execute complex dimensional inspection and analysis using the CMM and a full range of traditional metrology equipment (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.).
- Develop, validate, and maintain CMM inspection programs using engineering models (CAD) and 2D drawings.
- Read, interpret, and apply advanced engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Apply and adhere to modern Quality Management System (QMS) standards such as AS9100 and follow quality plans/procedures for inspection and testing.
- Ensure data integrity by accurately and promptly entering all quality and inspection results into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Manage non-conforming material, including meticulous documentation and initiation of the formal disposition and containment process.
- Ensure the consistent inspection and verification of tooling against engineering requirements.
- Fulfill established productivity objectives while actively promoting a clean, safe work environment and identifying potential hazards.
You have:
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in quality control, precision machining, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong spatial reasoning skills and the proven ability to visualize 3D part relationships from 2D engineering blueprints.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel, for communication, documentation, and data management.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, including system configuration and basic troubleshooting of external devices (e.g., printers, scanners, network connections).
