Job Overview Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Associate Solution Configurator - SAP BW Support.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Systems & Reporting, this position is responsible to support SAP BW activities, including designing and modifying data models, monitoring and troubleshooting production jobs, refining ETL processes, enhancing BW performance, and maintaining interfaces, with a focus on handling SAP BEx report queries and making complex web report changes for finance and HR reports.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and modifying SAP BW data models to meet evolving business requirements, ensuring data integrity and optimal structure for reporting and analytics
  • Accountable for daily monitoring of SAP BW production jobs, promptly identifying, investigating, and resolving job failures or performance issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Be responsible for configuring, optimizing, and supporting enterprise applications to improve business processes and system performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in application setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop test scripts, Conduct system testing, including unit QA, and integration testing, to validate configurations and document test result.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for enterprise applications. Support root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical support for project and initiatives.
  • Assist in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements
  • Provide auditing support as required.

Qualifications

  • A four year university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required to gain this knowledge
  • Over 4 years experience in enterprise application configuration and improving system performance. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and modifying SAP BW data models, as well as managing and optimizing ETL processes.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues in SAP BW production environments to ensure high system availability.
  • Solid background in creating and modifying SAP BEx queries and complex web reports, particularly for finance and HR reporting requirements.
  • Practical understanding of performance optimization techniques and maintaining interfaces between SAP BW and other systems.
  • Ability to prepare test scripts, support user acceptance testing, and provide effective assistance and training to end-users.
  • Involvement in SAP S/4 HANA and/or SAP Datasphere implementation or migration projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and go-live support.

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Toronto, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
