Our Mill Sales Coordinator is a strategic thinker with a knack for coordination and communication. We’re looking for a Mill Sales Coordinator (1-year term) to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Some post-secondary education in business, forestry, manufacturing or equivalent experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience providing positive customer experience, with proven relationship and conflict management skills.

  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide multiple solutions to a given challenge.

  • High level of ability in Outlook (email management) and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.

  • Working knowledge of up and down stream supply chain structure.

  • Experience using a sales system (AX or other).

  • Experience in forestry or wood products is an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.

  • Experience in Dynamics365 is an asset.

  • Works collaboratively with other team members.

In this role, you will:

  • Gather, analyze, and communicate product supply information to manage working capital and on-time shipment.

  • Work to achieve optimum value for Tolko by effectively utilizing truck and rail car capacity and rates.

  • Respond quickly and proactively to supply and demand shifts via market allocation processes.

  • Use problem-solving skills to suggest changes to individual orders when production does not meet order file.

  • Liaise with sales and agents closely on customer requirements.

  • Monitor customer credit, shipping cut-offs and work on container load plans.
