Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to join our Assessment & Permitting team within the Environmental Services practice working primarily at a project site in Caledon, Peel Region as a Project Ambassador. This role combines stakeholder engagement, project communications, and on-site presence during construction. You will act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and community stakeholders while monitoring construction activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Liaise with project delivery managers, contractors, and external agencies
  • Develop and maintain project Engagement Plans and communications
  • Ensure project information is accurate on program webpages and PlanEngage
  • Maintain stakeholder lists and build relationships with schools, businesses, health centers, and community organizations
  • Prepare and distribute notices, newsletters, maps, and event materials
  • Host Public Information Centres and stakeholder meetings
  • Conduct Business and Institutional Care Program (BICP) surveys and regular check-ins with area businesses
  • Plan and manage project signage, wayfinding, and hoarding
  • Focus on issues resolution

Construction Engagement

  • Monitor progress of projects to proactively understand schedule, construction impacts and proposed mitigation measures to clearly communicate these items to stakeholders
  • Review Traffic Management and Construction Management Plans and understanding impacts to the travelling public, businesses, institutions and property owners
  • Track monthly progress lookaheads to provide clear updates to stakeholders

Project Coordination

  • Participate in project kick-offs, bi-weekly reviews, and coordination meetings
  • Input project-level communications information into progress reports and communications calendars
  • Track construction-related outages (planned and emergency) for communication to key stakeholders
  • Train and mentor junior staff in communications procedures and standards as required
  • Maintain organized project documentation and photo records for visuals to share in communications materials

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience on a construction site
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills for issues resultion
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Capacity to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
  • Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget
  • Self-motivated with excellent technical writing and public speaking skills

Education and Experience

  • A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications and Assets:

  • Construction contract admin experience
  • Consulting experience
  • Expertise in community consultations
  • Project management experience, maintaining billable work and ensuring successful project deliveries

Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
