About the role
Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling complex challenges with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the accounting records and financial reporting across multiple entities. This position is ideal for someone who always meets deadlines, works independently, is exceptionally organized and resourceful, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and a proven ability to research, analyze, and resolve complex accounting issues while maintaining a high standard of accountability and performance.
Availability to work within the Pacific Time Zone is required. Compensation: 85,000-95,000
Principal Accountabilities Maintain accurate and timely reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements. Analyze financial results and provide meaningful explanations of variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods. Prepare and post journal entries. Coordinate audit requests and prepare supporting schedules and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency. Support special projects, system implementations, and other finance initiatives as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications 5–7 years of progressive experience in a senior accounting role. CPA designation preferred; equivalent professional accounting designation considered an asset. Strong knowledge of full-cycle corporate accounting in a multi-project and multi-entity environment. Strong working knowledge of IFRS, including the ability to independently research, interpret, and apply accounting standards to complex business transactions. Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. Thorough understanding of applicable Federal and Provincial tax requirements. Experience working with external auditors and managing audit deliverables. Demonstrated ability to independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines. Experience working with custom ERP systems and participating in accounting system implementations or enhancements. Advanced proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and other financial reporting tools. Technologically savvy with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency, reporting, and collaboration.
