Position Overview
The Accounting Assistant will provide support across accounts payable, entering daily point-of-sale entries, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early accounting experience who wants to build their career in a dynamic and growing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing accounts payable, including coding invoices and preparing payments.
- Complete daily point-of-sale entries for our operational entities.
- Perform basic account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files.
- Provide general bookkeeping support and assist with month-end tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth financial operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (tourism/hospitality industry experience is an asset).
- Diploma or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and asset.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
