As a Security Guard, you will work in a visitor‑facing environment, supporting a diverse and often international public. Clear communication, professionalism, and approachability are essential.
We are seeking a full-time security guard to join our team as a bilingual Nighttime Controller . In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. You will observe and report activities and incidents at the assigned client site and make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the safety of people, property, and buildings.
- Monitor CCTV systems and the Fire Control Panel.
- Report alarms or suspicious activity.
- Respond professionally to incidents and emergencies, following established procedures in French and English.
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Enforce site rules, security protocols, and company policies.
- Provide professional customer service to staff and visitors during nighttime hours.
- Liaise with police, fire, or medical services when required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.
- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Additional physical requirements may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable licensing requirements for Security Guards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid Ontario Security guard license
- Must have a valid First-aid level C CPR certificate
- Availability to work full-time between the hours of 1800 and 0600, including weekends
- At least one (1) year of experience in the security industry
- Ability to clearly communicate over the radio and in writing in French and English
- Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization
- Strong observational skills with the ability to detect and respond to security threats
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearence
