The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

##The Role:

Provide day-to-day Tier-2 application support, monitoring, routine administration, reporting, and testing coordination across enterprise systems under established governance.

This role is intended for someone developing capability in enterprise application operations, with structured mentorship, runbooks, and change governance to ensure safe, repeatable service delivery. This role emphasizes learning, consistency, and operational discipline, with increasing responsibility as capability and confidence develop under structured mentorship.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate and resolve system incidents; escalate when needed
  • Manage tickets, SLAs, and provide timely updates to stakeholders
  • Monitor system performance, integrations, and scheduled jobs
  • Perform routine administration and support access/permissions
  • Coordinate testing, track defects, and support system releases
  • Maintain clear documentation, reports, and audit-ready records
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency

Required Capabilities

  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and documentation discipline.
  • Comfort working with tickets, SLAs, and escalation processes; strong follow-through and communication.
  • Ability to produce clear operational reporting (status updates, trends, evidence packs) and communicate insights in a concise format.
  • Basic understanding of HR/Finance workflows and data sensitivity.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving; able to follow checklists and governance requirements consistently.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, tools, or processes quickly, with examples of self-directed learning, certification, training, or progression in previous roles or academic projects.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to follow structured runbooks and checklists while progressively increasing independence as skills develop.
  • Openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement within a mentored environment.

##Who We're Looking For:

Qualifications

Education Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 1–3 years in application support, IT operations, or systems administration
  • New/recent graduates with relevant education, co-ops, internships, or projects are encouraged to apply

What You Bring

  • Experience working in structured environments (tickets, queues, documentation)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow defined processes
  • Clear, professional communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to SAP (SuccessFactors, S/4HANA) or similar enterprise systems
  • Experience with job monitoring, integrations, or interfaces
  • Working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups) or Power Platform

Working Conditions Office-based role with extended computer use; occasional light lifting may be required.

The Brenda Strafford Foundation owns and operates four Long Term Care and Assisted Living seniors care facilities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB, with over 800 beds and approximately 1000 staff.
