The** Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese ** (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. JOB DESCRIPTION

Date: September 2026 – June 2027

Position Summary

St. Catherine’s Elementary School is looking for a faith-filled Learning Support Teacher to facilitate the mission of Catholic education by ensuring that all students, especially those with diverse learning needs, are assisted academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. They coordinate inclusive education services, collaborate with teachers and families, and ensure compliance with British Columbia Ministry of Education guidelines and the policies of the Catholic Independent Schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with current Learning Resource Teacher

  • Assist in the development and implementation of inclusive education programs.

  • Coordinate support for students with diverse learning needs, including those with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Work with teachers to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student support plans.

  • Facilitate School Based Team meetings.

  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers to support differentiated instruction.

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to IEPs, assessments, and funding designations.

  • Supporting students at risk in literacy and numeracy

  • Support programs that promote social-emotional learning, mental health, and student belonging.

  • Work with staff to develop proactive strategies that support positive behavior and classroom success.

Qualifications

  • Valid British Columbia Teacher’s Certification
