About the role

Across Canada, VetStrategy is a network of veterinary practices united by a shared purpose: healthy animals, happy owners.

We Bring This To Life Through Three Promises

  • Our People Promise – To be a great place to work.
  • Our Customer Promise – To deliver world-class veterinary care, locally.
  • Our Sustainability Promise – To be a force for good.

Guided by our values— We Care, We Dare, We Share —we prioritize well-being, embrace challenges, and foster collaboration. Rooted in passion and compassion, we support our people, patients, their families, and our communities. Humble and approachable, we achieve more together.

Lead like an owner. Practice like a clinician. Grow with the backing of an established veterinary network. Komoka-Kilworth Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced, motivated Medical Director Veterinarian to lead a thriving hospital in one of Southwestern Ontario’s fastest growing and most affluent communities. This is a rare opportunity to shape the medical direction of a well-established practice while enjoying the autonomy of leadership - with the support, stability, and resources behind you to succeed.

If you’ve ever wanted the influence and impact of ownership without the financial risk or administrative burden, this role was designed with you in mind.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a title-only Medical Director role. As Medical Director, you will:

  • Set and uphold the medical standards of care for the hospital
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing veterinary team
  • Partner closely with an experienced Practice Manager
  • Influence protocols, equipment, service offerings, and hospital growth
  • Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical practice

You’ll have the ability to shape the practice as if it were your own, while being supported by proven systems, leadership, and infrastructure. Medicine & Clinical Opportunities

Komoka–Kilworth Animal Clinic Is Equipped To Support High-quality, Comprehensive Medicine, Allowing You To Manage Cases Confidently In-house And Deliver Exceptional Continuity Of Care. Our Services Include

  • Digital radiology and in-house ultrasound
  • Therapeutic laser
  • Advanced dentistry
  • Orthopaedics

For veterinarians interested in advancing their clinical and surgical skill set, the clinic also benefits from access to a traveling mentor surgeon, offering collaborative case support and hands-on guidance for advanced and less commonly performed procedures - ideal for continued growth without practicing in isolation.

We are proud to care for both companion animals and exotics; however, interest or experience with exotics is entirely optional. Veterinarians who prefer to focus exclusively on dogs and cats are fully supported to practice in alignment with their interests and strengths.

About VetStrategy

Veterinary Services
5001-10,000

Being part of VetStrategy is about being part of something bigger – an ever-growing community, where we connect person-to-person and skill-to-need, united by a common purpose of healthy animals, happy owners. From our humble beginning in 2006 to the present day, we continue to make a difference in the lives of people who have dedicated themselves to this industry.

When VetStrategy co-founders Orin Litman and his wife, Dr. Michelle Cutler, decided to acquire McLean Animal Hospital in 2006, they focused on three promises – our Customer Promise of world-class veterinary care, delivered locally; our People Promise, to be a great place to work; and our Sustainability Promise to be a force for good for patients, people and our plant.

Keeping our three promises led VetStrategy to become the leading veterinary network in Canada, with veterinary practices, 24-hour emergency care, and specialty hospitals coast-to-coast. We have developed and refined a model for supporting our practices across the country.

What we do:

We care for those dedicated to caring for animals by creating a workplace where we focus on innovation, engagement, and teamwork.

We know the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into building each practice, and we don’t want to touch that – we truly embrace the uniqueness of each clinic. Our heritage first approach means we won’t change a clinic’s name, culture or heritage.

We understand the challenges our veterinary teams face and are committed to doing what’s right – for them, their clients, and their patients.

We care about the future of veterinary medicine. Everything we do comes back to ensuring that veterinarians have the time, support, and infrastructure to focus on responsible medicine and quality care.

We believe in empowering our support office and clinic staff and providing them opportunities to develop their skills and grow in their careers.
