Are you passionate about creating exceptional candidate and new hire experiences? At Childventures, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Talent Acquisition Coordinator to support our recruitment and onboarding efforts. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Talent Acquisition Specialist and Centre Directors to help source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, prepare offers, and ensure a smooth onboarding journey. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining applicant tracking data, supporting employer branding, participating in job fairs, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation. Reporting to the Director of People Success, this position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the overall candidate experience!
This is a fixed-term, full-time contract position (40 hours per week) to commence immediately to September 2026, offered in a hybrid work environment (i.e. typically 2 days pre week onsite at the Support Centre located in Burlington).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment and selection process, including candidate screening, scheduling, interviewing, and hiring recommendations. Provide support and counsel to hiring managers on best practices.
- Assist Centre Directors and the People Success team in assessing hiring needs and executing recruitment plans in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Support key hiring processes, including reference checks, offer negotiations, and offer letter preparation.
- Maintain data within the applicant tracking system, including accurate tracking of recruitment and hiring activity and related reporting/metrics.
- Assist with employer branding and outreach efforts, including participation at job/career fairs.
- Support the onboarding process by ensuring new hires receive necessary information, assisting with onboarding logistics (e.g. IT tickets, LMS) and collecting required documentation.
- Stay informed on recruitment trends, best practices, and legislative changes to continuously improve hiring strategies and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal hiring policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to recruitment processes and People Success initiatives.
- Provide administrative support to the training platform, including troubleshooting access, assigning access and supporting reports, as needed.
- Assist with system updates in CCLS to reflect changes (e.g. new hires, internal transfer, terminations), including regular audits to ensure up-to-date records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources
- Working towards CHRP designation is considered an asset
- 1-2 years recruitment experience; experience recruiting in the service or retail industries for both salaried and hourly positions; childcare sector experience as asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now) and HRIS platforms
- Understanding of employment legislation (e.g., OHRC, AODA)
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptable, innovative, and able to manage confidential information with discretion
