Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing logistical and administrative support to the team’s research activities and projects. The incumbent will act as a resource and contact person between the research team and various RI-MUHC departments.

General Duties Under the supervision of the direct supervisor, the person will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of an installation, a large laboratory or many laboratories,
  • Organize, distribute, and verify the work of others and participate in their training,
  • Establish priorities and schedules of projects, and coordinate execution of projects and service,
  • Prepare quotations, administer accounts, and prepare budget proposals,
  • Develop procedures and make recommendations to improve unit efficiency,
  • Develop methodology, analyze and interpret data,
  • Act as resource person, resolve problems and instruct others.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Health Sciences

Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Problem solving abilities,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Demonstrate diplomacy, discretion and good judgement ,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite, and Google Suite, and recent Canva program.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: $41,550.60 to $62,353.20. Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Work Site: 5252 boul. de Maisonneuve.
