Compensation Details**:**
- Lean Portfolio Management 19: Salaries typically range from $112 006 to $149,341 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of twoin-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team and Job Overview:
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
- Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
- Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
- Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
- Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
As EDC aims to be the leader in helping all Canadian exporters go, grow and succeed internationally, the Enterprise Data Operations & Technology (EDOT) group in EDC continues to play a critical role in enabling leaders to make better data driven decisions by providing holistic business reporting, advanced analytics for actionable insights. Within EDOT, the Data Transformation Initiatives (DTI) team delivers a portfolio of data projects that strengthen how data is managed, governed, and used across the enterprise. The team also provides end-to-end oversight for all EDOT planning and monitoring, including delivery roadmaps, progress tracking, and proactive escalation of risks and dependencies.
As Principal, Portfolio Delivery Management, you’ll work at the intersection of planning, governance, and financial stewardship to bring clarity to priorities, enable transparent decision-making, and help leaders deliver value with confidence. This role is well-suited to a relationship-driven portfolio leader who enjoys connecting the dots across teams, tools, and timelines, and who can balance disciplined oversight with a pragmatic, delivery-first mindset.
What you will be doing:
Portfolio & Initiative Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact for EDOT across DTS, Orchestration, and Internal Audit to ensure consistency and operational efficiency.
- Provide oversight and governance across EDOT portfolios to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks, and recommend optimization actions aligned to EDC priorities.
- Track initiative progress, milestones, and risks using Planview and AgilePlace.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and ensure alignment with SVP OKRs and DTS objectives during planning cycles.
Governance & Reporting:
- Support development of annual and long-term EDOT roadmaps.
- Develop portfolio frameworks, tools, and standards aligned to enterprise outcomes.
- Facilitate portfolio workshops and roadmap refresh sessions.
- Establish EDOT governance to ensure transparency of all work items.
- Define and report portfolio KPIs, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
- Manage benefits tracking and portfolio-level status reporting.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Lead financial planning and budget management across EDOT portfolios.
- Coordinate annual and multi-year forecasts and funding envelopes.
- Ensure financial governance and data integrity within Planview.
- Partner with Finance and Portfolio teams on audit and compliance matters.
- Monitor spend across internal and vendor resources and identify optimization opportunities.
- Validate invoices, timesheets, and payment schedules.
- Coordinate future operational cost estimates and benefits realization.
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation:
- Act as liaison between EDOT leadership, DTS, and EDC stakeholders.
- Facilitate alignment through governance forums and decision bodies.
Risk Management
- Ensure EDOT risks are identified, owned, and managed within governance tools.
- Coordinate risk reviews, escalation, and mitigation activities.
- Maintain visibility into run, grow, and transform risks.
- Document and socialize risk management practices.
Operational Support:
- Prepare OKRs, scorecards, and executive materials.
- Maintain digital roadmaps and portfolio reporting decks.
- Chair weekly EDOT portfolio sync meetings.
Audit Support:
- Serve as primary liaison for EDOT audit activities.
- Coordinate audit communications, timelines, and action plans.
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in portfolio or program delivery.
- Strong financial, governance, and executive reporting expertise.
- Experience operating within senior governance forums.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong risk, dependency, and delivery management capability.
What will make you stand out:
- Relevant certifications (PMP, PfMP, SAFe).
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
