Location: Brampton, Ontario
Job Description Job Type: Hybrid - Brampton, Ontario Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 Annually Job Summary This role provides a lot of variety for the incumbent who will be responsible for providing first-level support for employee relations and performance management for Store Operations and the Warehouse and Logistics group in assigned geographical area. Also assists with HR administrative and recruitment support for these areas. May also provide support for Head Office group, as requested by supervisor.
What You Will Do
- Investigating and answering employee relations questions and concerns in person, over the phone, via e-mail, or through the employee hotline
- Providing interpretation of Company policy and Employment Standards regulations for corporate store and warehouse staff. Sharing best corporate practices to franchise partners and referring to 3rd party resources, where appropriate.
- Coaching and providing guidance on a variety of topics. This includes partnering with management team to provide perspective on topics such as tough employee relations issues, performance coaching & development, compensation recommendations, termination pay recommendations, etc.
- Drafting letters for employee terminations, stores franchising/closures, job abandonment, performance management, investigations, offer letters and status changes, etc.
- Creating and running reports to support audits and follow ups: Ex. SM Bonus file preparation, contract end dates, leaves of absence, SIN expiration, groomer insurance certificates
- Leave Administration - Coordinating leaves of absence, return to work, and modified duties. Advise employees on what leaves they qualify for, what documentation is required, walk them through leave procedure
- Recruitment – creating job postings, candidate management in the Applicant Tracking System (Workday). Other recruitment activities may include : negotiating temporary staffing agency contracts, planning/attending job fairs, recruitment advertising and reference checking.
- Payroll Support - auditing timecards, following up on missing hours, and any other support required.
- Workday Support (example: re-setting passwords, walking managers through processes such as recruitment, hiring, termination, and status changes, approving new hires and name changes, and pulling reports as needed)
- Employment Verification - Providing confirmation of employment to outside parties (i.e. Service Canada)
- Conducting HR Orientations
- Participating in employee engagement initiatives
- Assisting with HR Projects as assigned
- Health and Safety related tasks
- Conducting exit interviews and termination meetings. Speaking to terminated employees regarding their questions, feedback and issues
Experience, Education, Certifications
- Post-Secondary education with a focus in Human Resources Management, preferred
- CHRP or working towards, preferred
- 1-3 years of Human Resources administrative experience, required
- 2-4 years of Human Resources client group support experience with a strong background in performance management and employee relations experience, required
