Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and can manage day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple entities with accuracy and efficiency.
The pay range for this position is $20-25 per hour depending on skills and experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the books using QBO for various related corporations
- Classify transactions accurately by working closely with property managers
- Enter and pay bills
- Process payroll, including maintaining employee records, calculating wages, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions
- Apply payments and reconcile accounts
- Balance cash and prepare journal entries
- Prepare HST returns
- Perform general filing and administrative tasks
- Apply payments in industry-specific software
- Prepare weekly reports on accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Prepare monthly expense reports per property based on classified transactions
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience is required
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel is required
- Experience with ADP is a strong asset
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and HST returns
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently
- Comfortable with numbers and basic financial reporting
