Tax Manager – Canadian & U.S. Tax North York, ON (Primarily Onsite)
Are you looking for more than just another tax season? Our client, a well-established boutique public accounting firm in North York, is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys complex Canadian and U.S. tax work, mentoring junior staff, and building long-term client relationships.
Unlike many public accounting firms, this role offers a genuine opportunity to grow into a senior leadership position as part of the firm's long-term succession planning.
What You'll Be Doing ✔ Prepare and review Canadian and U.S. tax returns ✔ Review more complex cross-border tax engagements ✔ Respond to CRA and IRS correspondence ✔ Assist with tax planning and advisory work ✔ Prepare Canadian financial statements ✔ Mentor and review the work of junior staff ✔ Build strong relationships with owner-managed business clients
What We're Looking For
- 4–6+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing U.S. personal tax returns (required)
- Experience with Canadian corporate and personal tax compliance
- Exposure to U.S. corporate tax is considered an asset
- CPA (or working toward designation) preferred
- Excellent client service and communication skills
- Someone who enjoys mentoring others and taking on increasing responsibility
