About the role
LCS is looking for post-secondary students to join our Facilities Team for the summer work term.
This position will begin in May and the contract term will end on August 28th, 2026.
Schedule
40-hour week: 8:00 am start Monday to Friday and 7:00 am start on Saturday and Sunday
- Schedule A: Working Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday and Monday off
- Schedule B: Working Sunday through Thursday with Friday and Saturday off
- 30-minute unpaid meal break and two 15-minute paid breaks
Skills
- Ability to perform continuous manual labour involving lifting (approximately 50 pounds), bending, pushing and reaching above the shoulders
- Ability to operate riding and manual lawnmowers, weed trimmers and pick-up trucks (valid G2 Driver’s License required)
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety; Workplace Hazardous Materials Information (WHMIS) and safety data sheets (SDS)
- Be a supportive team player
Responsibilities
- Mow and trim grass, rake, collect and remove leaves, and twigs, collect and place the garbage into appropriate garbage or recycling bins, clean, painting, and sweep outdoor areas
- Operate grounds-keeping equipment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy objects when required
- Collect, deliver, sort or move various supplies or materials; pick up and deliver mail as required
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the school to handle, store, use, dispose and transport any equipment, tools, materials, etc.
Salary: $17.60/hour
