POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Good Food Centre Worker is to work in all areas of the Good Food Centre and warehouse to provide efficient food distribution. This includes assisting other members of the Food Services team, accepting and organizing donations, and various other tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct service user intake using Link2Feed software program
  • Assist in the distribution of all incoming goods
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Act as a backup support in the Good Food Centre for stocking shelves and food distribution
  • Committed to uphold the organization’s mission, values and standards
  • Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality
  • Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management, and follow Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Other duties as required to ensure the continuation of services

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in a second language
  • An understanding of issues including mental health, poverty, homelessness and ability to provide person-centered care
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs using work safe guidelines

HOURS OF WORK:

    1. 5 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in order to meet program needs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly wage starts at $20.21 per hour
  • Benefits to start after three (3) months of continuous employment
  • Group RRSP employer matching up to 3% after one (1) year of continuous employment
