About the role

The Cloud Business Office is seeking a junior/intermediate Cloud DevOps Administrator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and secure operations, and who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic, enterprise-scale environment.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, deployment, and support of cloud infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong emphasis on automation, identity management, and operational reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure suitable, sustainable, and securable cloud operations.

This is a growth-oriented role: you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, contribute to strategic cloud initiatives, and expand into areas such as cloud security, application architecture, and platform engineering. We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and ready to take the next step in their cloud career.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources (e.g., virtual machines, containers, storage, and networking) in Azure and GCP environments.

Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform to ensure repeatable and auditable deployments.

Collaborate with Architecture, Application, and Business teams to define target state.

Provide off-hours on-call support for critical production systems.

Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using native cloud tools and third-party observability platforms.

Identify and resolve security, performance, operational, and cost-related issues to ensure optimal operation of cloud-hosted services.

Implement and maintain secure configurations for cloud resources aligned with organizational baselines and compliance standards.

Apply patches and updates to cloud infrastructure components to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain system integrity.

Monitor upcoming cloud provider changes and assess their impact on deployed resources

Administer user and service identities using Microsoft Entra and GCP IAM.

Enforce least privilege access using role-based access control (RBAC) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) across cloud environments.

Support implementation of backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud workloads.

Participate in testing and validation of recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents; escalate as necessary.

Document root cause analyses and contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud configurations, changes, and operational procedures.

Follow change management processes to ensure traceability and minimize risk.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

1–3 years of experience in a cloud operations, DevOps, or system administration role.

Cloud certification (Azure/GCP) preferred.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.

Familiarity with Microsoft Entra for identity and access management.

Understanding of cloud security principles and practices.

Knowledge of cloud FinOps and cloud application patterns.

Proficiency with Terraform and a strong automation mindset.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Scripting or coding experience (e.g., Ruby, Python, PowerShell).

Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation for after-hours incident response.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud environments.

Ability to execute incident response or disaster recovery plans and processes.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset when communicating with stakeholders outside Quebec.
