Role Summary

As the Specialist, Corporate Partnerships you will work together with the Director, Philanthropy & Partnerships, the Senior Specialist of Corporate Partnerships, and the Conservation Initiative Teams to rapidly grow Ocean Wise's unrestricted revenue stream and brand presence in Canada, as well as globally. Through lead generation, cold calling, market strategy, product development, and online and in-person interactions, you will find, evaluate, develop, and maximize revenue generating opportunities within the corporate sector for Ocean Wise.

Who You Are

You are a business development professional with demonstrated success in identifying and reaching out to potential leads, cold calling, preparing proposals, and presenting to corporate organizations in order to secure partnerships that boost brand and/or philanthropic support. You are a relationship focused professional, but you don’t compromise on data integrity and tracking your efforts/results in databases and dashboards. You are passionate about sustainability and feel called to the urgent mission to help save the ocean.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting daily calls, emails and other forms of outreach with cold and warm leads.
  • Researching prospects to identify how to support their sustainability and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) goals.
  • Attending regular meetings with conservation initiatives to align on philanthropic leads, new partners, sponsors and clients.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as communications, conservation initiatives, and finance to develop and market new B2B services that will result in revenue generation.
  • Preparing proposals, executing agreements, and communicating to maintain sponsor relationships.
  • Participating in Shoreline Champion Events, tradeshows, and conferences as required.
  • Tracking your outreach efforts and results in Salesforce and on our internal dashboard.
  • Working with the philanthropy and partnerships teams to meet increasing quarterly and annual targets.

What You Bring

  • You have demonstrated success in generating revenue and donations.\
  • You have experience in writing proposals and presenting to various groups/stakeholders.
  • You have proven ability to develop strong relationships with donors and corporate partners.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and proposals in a persuasive way.
  • You are optimistic and show resiliency when handling rejection from potential leads.
  • You have experience with Salesforce or other CRMs, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • You have a passion for environmental sustainability.
  • You are collaborative and committed to working cross-functionally with other teams within and outside of Ocean Wise.
  • You are agile and able to multitask when necessary.

How You Will Be Measured

  • Ability to demonstrate that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met within your portfolio.\
  • Achievement of revenue targets, set annually and adjusted if needed.
  • Your positive contribution to the Shoreline Champion season will be documented.
  • Your ability to develop key corporate relationships that drive revenue and enhance brand appeal to other prospects.
  • You use salesforce, our internal dashboard, and other systems accurately and effectively to track progress within your portfolio.
  • You work according to Ocean Wise’s values of Knowledge, Integrity, Extreme Collaboration, Impact, and Optimism.

Where and How You’ll Work

This is a remote-first position with the possibility to work at our headquarters in downtown Vancouver, if desired. The standard work week for this role is 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday. This role requires flexibility to travel for meetings with prospects and donors across North America regularly and to work occasional weekends and/or evenings to attend Ocean Wise shoreline cleanup, events and conferences.
