We are seeking a motivated and organized Athletics and Recreation Assistant to support the delivery of Recreation Services programming and events. This role combines administrative support, program coordination, and event execution, ensuring a high-quality experience for members and participants. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing recreational events, tournaments, and seasonal programs across non-racquet sport areas, including recitals, shows, Fitness and Wellness seminars/workshops, the Minor Hockey year-end party, and other activities
- Support Home Away From Home outings and assist program leads with scheduling, registration, staffing, equipment coordination, and space bookings
- Support risk management practices including documentation, waivers, and incident reporting
- Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, processing registrations, tracking participation, preparing reports, and taking meeting minutes
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding programs and events
- Order supplies for all departments and provide general administrative support as required
- Serve as the lead for the GameTime scheduling platform, managing facility bookings, user access, schedules, troubleshooting issues, and supporting program registration and reporting
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or administrative support, preferably in a recreation or sport environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with scheduling software (e.g., GameTime, Northstar) is an asset
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills; ability to multitask and work collaboratively
- Familiarity with recreation or community sport programming and experience with facility scheduling or customer service is an asset
- Position requires evening and weekend hours to support events and programming (Saturdays plus up to 3 weekdays/weeknights)
- Work is office-based with regular movement between workstations throughout various sport and recreation areas
