Summary:

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Manager to join our team. The Development Manager will lead various aspects of the development process, from project inception through completion. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a passion for real estate development, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow within the industry. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and approval process for all Development Applications, including Zoning By-law Amendments (ZBAs) and Site Plan Approvals (SPAs), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Lead the selection and management of diverse consultant teams, fostering collaboration and accountability throughout all phases of development.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with financial goals and timelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the efforts of project consultants to meet budget, schedule, and development targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipalities and regulatory authorities to facilitate timely approvals and entitlements.
  • Guide the development and review of suite layout plans in collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Lead due diligence and feasibility assessments for new development opportunities, including market analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Review and negotiate development agreements, condominium documents, and other legal materials in partnership with legal counsel.
  • Analyze evolving policies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform development strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and external stakeholders on project progress, budgetary changes, and strategic milestones.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree in planning, engineering, or business preferred.
  • 5+ years of real estate development and entitlement experience, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and development processes.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
