We’re hiring a Bookkeeper to bring detail management to our financial workflows. You’ll manage internal books, keep project budgets and reports audit-ready, and ensure every step of the financial cycle runs smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a structured, project-based environment, and understands how strong bookkeeping supports growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full-cycle bookkeeping
- Open new project and client accounts
- Lead daily transaction entries, reconciliations, and monthly closings
- Oversee project-level financial tracking, budget-to-actuals, and job costing
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports tailored for senior managers and project leads
- Set up and manage charts of accounts for new projects and clients
- Manage GST/HST remittances, WCB reporting, and tax submissions
- Issue invoices and track accounts receivable; coordinate collections as needed
- Process payroll and contractor payments in line with internal systems
- Process AP/AR
- Follow file cycles for document control, backups, and retention
- Support preparation for year-end and assist CPA with review packages
- Collaborate with department leads to ensure budgets and project financials are tracked and shared appropriately
Your Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a bookkeeper/project controller in a firm or professional services environment
- Understanding of ERP Systems (Deltek) - Training Provided
- Strong understanding of project-based accounting and controls
- Comfortable preparing tailored reports for senior management and project managers
- Hands-on experience with GST/HST remittance, WCB, payroll, and client invoicing
- Familiarity with working across multiple projects and clients simultaneously
- Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation processes
- High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability
- Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
- Clear communicator who can collaborate well across departments
