Housekeeping Attendant
The Explorer Hotel – Yellowknife, NT
The Explorer Hotel is currently seeking a reliable and detail oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This role is essential to delivering a clean, welcoming, and comfortable experience for our guests and supports both guest facing and behind the scenes operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing amenities.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and staff spaces.
- Support laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
- Follow proper procedures for the use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged items to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with hotel policies and health regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn safe handling of hazardous cleaning materials (WHMIS training is an asset).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Eligibility & Employment Details
- This position is intended for local candidates.
- Not eligible for employer sponsorship, except under the Francophone Mobility Program.
- Relocation assistance is available within Canada for successful candidates committing to a two year term of employment.
- Shared, subsidized staff accommodations are available for full time employees.
