Thomson Rogers is currently seeking an Intermediate Law Clerk to join its thriving Personal Injury Litigation team.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing files from intake through trial
  • Drafting court documents including correspondences, pleadings, motion materials, affidavit of documents, undertakings, and various other court and tribunal documents,
  • Reviewing transcripts and managing undertakings charts
  • Preparing various briefings (mediation, trial, investigation, etc.)
  • Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients, adjusters, and treatment providers during all stages of a file
  • Assisting clients with the completion and submission of Accident Benefit (AB) Forms
  • Preparing and filing LAT Applications
  • Completing billings for dockets, and processing clients and lawyers’ out of pocket expenses
  • Organizing and diarizing important limitations and deadlines
  • Coordinating the issuance, service, and filing of court and tribunal documents
  • Scheduling mediations, appointments, discoveries, Zoom meetings and performing additional administrative duties as required

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of personal injury litigation experience required
  • Experience with TORT and AB matters is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Experience with hyperlinking, bookmarking, and navigating through CaseLines
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment while taking initiative on files
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel) and experience with Kofax PDF, iManage, Zoom, and Soluno considered an asset
  • Understanding of basic math, accounting, and budgeting
  • Law Clerk Diploma is considered an asset
