TFS currently has an exciting full-time opportunity as a Senior Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager. This role will reside in our Markham Head Office.
We have implemented a hybrid work environment and our head office is located in Markham, ON. Number of days worked in office is subject to role requirements. More details will be discussed during the interview process.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Key member of Accounting department involved in month-end financial statement preparation. Responsibilities include (i) preparation of accounting journal entries including GL account reconciliations (ii) preparation of financial analysis for management review (iii) preparation of various management reports.

Assist Finance team in preparation of quarterly consolidation package to the parent company.

Preparation of quarterly and annual corporate operating cost budget, and related analysis of monthly budget to actual results

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual project cost budgets

Assist in preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements, including all related note disclosures, in accordance with IFRS.

Assist in preparation of provincial and Federal tax filings.

Assist with corporate income tax and sales tax audit requests.

Assist with Sarbanes Oxley and year-end audit requests.

Actively participate in various departmental and corporate projects, ensuring that financial reporting and other financial considerations are thoroughly addressed.
What You’ll Bring:
- CPA Designation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
- Minimum 3 to 5 years work experience.
- Prior experience with the financial service industry would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Taxes would be an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Power point.
- Strong attention to detail as well as technical and analytical skills.
- Well organized, ability to work towards tight reporting deadlines.
- Enthusiastic about learning, quick learning agility.
- Excellent teamwork and decision-making skills.
