JOB DESCRIPTION
Terms:
Part-Time (20% - teach the class on Fridays)
1 year (non-renewable contract)
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to early childhood education and will be responsible for:
- Teaching the Kindergarten curriculum in a developmentally appropriate and engaging manner
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues within and across the school
- Full Participation in student-learning and co-curricular activities
- Supporting the development of foundational literacy and numeracy skills
through guided play-based and inquiry-based learning, and being able to follow
an established literacy program
- Using ongoing observation and sound assessment practices to monitor student
progress and inform instruction
- Collaborating with learning support staff to support diverse learners and
implement accommodations where necessary
- Supporting the development of positive social skills, emotional regulation,
and respectful behaviour
Extra-Curricular:
- Demonstrated commitment to co-curricular endeavours is an expectation.
Priority Consideration will be given to candidates who possess the following:
- Current pastoral reference confirming that he/she is a practicing Roman Catholic
- Certificate of Qualification issued by the BC Ministry of Education
Salary Range: $13,347 - $23,040, dependent on experience and qualifications
