We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Specialist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, healthcare operations, and medical billing. The successful candidate will take ownership of key financial processes and play an integral role in supporting physicians, clinic owners, and internal stakeholders across our clinic network.

About the Role

As the Finance Specialist, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll administration, invoicing, physician compensation calculations, and medical billing reconciliation. You will serve as a trusted financial resource for our clinics while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has exceptional attention to detail, and is comfortable managing multiple financial responsibilities independently.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

Manage budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and internal financial controls. Administer payroll for employees and process physician coverage payments in accordance with company policies. Monitor and reconcile financial transactions to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to verify invoices and process payments accurately and on time. Reconcile monthly payments, receipts, and recurring invoices. Follow up on outstanding balances and maintain accurate financial records.

Billing & Invoicing

Calculate, generate, and process invoices for: Monthly management fees Physician coverage services Clinic setup retainers Specialized services, including immigration and referral support

Marketing and other ad hoc requests

Prepare and distribute client contracts and retainer invoices as required.

Medical Billing & Physician Compensation

Audit physician remittance statements and billing reports. Calculate physician payouts using various compensation models, including split-rate and daily guarantee arrangements. Upload and reconcile remittance files to generate monthly reports. Investigate billing discrepancies and coordinate adjustments for late-settled or mis-billed clinical shifts. Serve as the primary point of contact for physician and clinic owner inquiries related to billing statements and Ministry of Health claims.

Clinic Financial Administration

Maintain accurate clinic financial and payment information within internal systems. Update clinic site details and ensure financial data remains synchronized across platforms. Securely manage confidential payment credentials and financial documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial software. Experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare finance, medical billing, or clinic administration. Familiarity with medical billing platforms such as ClinicAid or similar software. Experience working with EMR systems is considered an asset. Knowledge of physician compensation models and healthcare billing practices is an asset.
