Who you are
- The ideal candidate has supported successful hiring campaigns in small or mid-sized organizations and is ready to dive deeper into recruiting, HR systems, and employee programs
- We require strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work coordination across various virtual communication platforms
- Minimum of 3 years of professional HR experience, with exposure to multiple aspects of HR operations
- Experience supporting recruitment efforts in a small or mid-sized organization (not required to have led campaigns)
- Strong skills in drafting job postings, reviewing applications, and managing applicant tracking systems
- Experience with top industry ATS platforms, preferably Greenhouse
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and eagerness to learn new HR tools and technologies
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams including operations, technical, and creative groups
- Previous experience supporting the implementation or rollout of an HR platform (e.g., HRIS, ATS), including tasks such as data entry/migration, testing, documentation, or employee communications
- Experience in employee engagement or event coordination
- Fluency in other languages is an asset
What the job involves
- We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our growing People Team at MZLA. This is a role for someone with a solid foundation in HR and passion for recruiting who is eager to expand their expertise across the full spectrum of employee experience
- As part of a small but mighty team, you’ll play a key role in scaling our workforce over the next 12 months. Beyond recruitment, you’ll contribute to broader human resources initiatives such as implementing a new HRIS, revamping our career site, and improving processes and documentation
- This role also offers opportunities to support engagement programs, including the planning and execution of our first global All Hands in 2026
- You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across People Operations, Finance, and Support, as well as teams of developers, designers, and marketers. This individual contributor position reports directly to the Manager, People Operations & Strategy
- We’re committed to creating an amazing experience for our users, and you’ll play a key part in this effort. You will be working with our existing staff and community members from all over the globe to support the mission and objectives of MZLA Technologies Corp and the Thunderbird Project
- This role works closely with staff across Canada, US, and Europe. Consequently, applicants in the Eastern Standard time zone are strongly preferred
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including drafting job postings, managing applicant pipelines, and coordinating candidate communications
- Partner with hiring managers to schedule interviews, gather feedback, and ensure a smooth candidate experience
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management
- Maintain HR documentation, systems, and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and practices
- Contribute to HR projects such as HRIS implementation, career site updates, and process improvements
- Assist in employee engagement initiatives, including planning and executing company-wide events
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across People Operations, Finance, and other teams to deliver effective People programs
