Join our Team! AGF is looking for a Production supervisor for our shop in Ottawa. This is a full-time, on-site position, working Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a wage range of $32 to $35 per hour depending on experience. The successful candidate will supervise a team of approximately 25 shop employees, in a non-unionized environment.

About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, including cutting, bending, and loading of reinforcing steel (rebar);
- Monitor employee performance, provide direction, support training, and enforce discipline when necessary;
- Ensure production meets job specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines;
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS);
- Liaise with engineering/drafting, logistics, and project management to resolve fabrication issues or schedule conflicts;
- Coordinate material flow, inventory checks, and ensure that raw materials and consumables are stocked;
- Conduct inspections and be responsible for QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory standards;
- Operate within lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency;
- Promote teamwork, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor;
- Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and timekeeping as required.
About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Availability to work on day and evening shifts;
- 5–7+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or industrial setting;
- Experience in steel fabrication, rebar manufacturing, or a related industry;
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, bending, rigging, material handling, etc.;
- Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS, CSA standards);
- Strong communication and organizational skills;
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, production software);
- Valid forklift certification and/or crane experience is an asset.
