The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer Resources, the Volunteer Resources Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of APC’s volunteer program.
This position is responsible for assisting with the supervision of volunteers including volunteer database management, new volunteer onboarding and orientation, daily scheduling and special events supervision, in collaboration with other business units.
Responsibilities include:

Support the Coordinators, Volunteer Resources, with the onboarding process for new volunteers.

Greet and welcome volunteers and ensure that they are prepared for the start of each shift.

Support Volunteer Resources staff in their daily activities.

Schedule daily volunteer shifts.

Maintain the volunteer database (Better Impact), maintain accurate records for all volunteers.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, preferably some post-secondary education in volunteer management, social sciences, human resources or adult education.

Must possess a valid Manitoba Driver’s License or equivalent.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher.

Must have excellent communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal and administrative skills.

Experience as a community volunteer.

Extensive experience in working with diverse range of age groups, intellectual and physical abilities.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
