Your impact
We’re seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Estimato r with estimating experience to support projects for our Water and Wastewater Line of Business. The types of projects include water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, sewer collection systems, and other heavy civil projects.
We'll be considering qualified candidates who reside in Toronto Ontario Canada.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop construction cost estimates for Water and Wastewater systems, including but not limited to pipelines, process piping, and process equipment. The ability to estimate heavy civil, structural, and architectural disciplines is a plus.
- Apply practical field experience and constructability expertise to the development of conceptual estimates when minimal design drawing and information are available.
- Review and interpret plans and specifications from multiple design phases; program, conceptual, design development through 100% construction documents
- Review and validate change orders.
- Ability to develop work breakdown structure for complex projects to provide clear and logical cost estimates.
- Ability to write a narrative Basis of Estimate to accurately describe the estimating methodology and assumptions.
- Ability to generate quantity takeoffs and calculate costs using labor rates, production rates, and material pricing schedules and historical data.
- Ability to develop capital cost estimates for water/wastewater/pipeline projects
- Solicits cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Understand construction market trends and the implications for estimating.
- Contribute to risk analyses, value engineering, and constructability exercises.
- Review and validate contractor proposals for various project delivery types
- Demonstrates an ability to be responsible for completion of tasks without supervision
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to effectively communicate complex estimating information to project teams.
Here's what you'll need
10 Years Of Progressive Experience With Increasing Responsibility Required.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field is desirable. Experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
- Proficient in the use of standard office computer systems such as MS Project, PDF file editor programs, Bluebeam etc.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, water/sewer collection systems, pump stations, and other heavy civil projects.
- Experience from the oil and gas industry is a plus.
- Experience with “Hard Bid” general contractor estimating is a plus.
- Experience in actual construction management is a plus.
- Experience with Sage Estimating (Timberline) Software, HCSS, and On-Screen Takeoff are highly desirable.
- Additional desirable software use would include MII, and AutoDesk Assemble for takeoffs
- Active membership in AACEI, ASPE, PMI, or similar association is desirable.
- Certifications such as CEP, CCP, PMP or CCM are a plus.
Posted Salary Range Minimum
112,000.00
Posted Salary Range Upper
145,000.00
The base salary range for this position is $112,000.00 to $145,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
