The Veterinary Outreach Lead (RVT) leads community veterinary services in rural, remote, and underserved communities across Ontario. This role blends clinical leadership, volunteer coordination, and community engagement to deliver mobile spay/neuter, wellness, and preventive care clinics. Guided by One Health principles, the position supports population management, emergency response, and innovative outreach programs that improve access to veterinary care.
About the Role

Plan, coordinate, and deliver 20–30 mobile outreach clinics annually, including spay/neuter, wellness, vaccination, and preventive care services

Lead clinic logistics including scheduling, site coordination, equipment, supplies, travel, accommodations, and mobile clinic setup
-
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection prevention and control standards, CVO regulations, animal welfare guidelines, and workplace health and safety requirements

Provide clinical coordination, mentorship, and on-site leadership to veterinary staff and volunteers during outreach and emergency clinics
-
Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and support volunteer veterinarians, RVTs, and support volunteers

Maintain volunteer records, track participation, and implement strategies to support volunteer engagement and retention

Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, municipal stakeholders, and Indigenous leadership to support community-led service delivery

Support culturally appropriate outreach, education, and preventative care initiatives in collaboration with community partners

Oversee client and animal record management, ensuring accurate, timely data entry and reporting

Participate in emergency response planning and deployment, including volunteer coordination, logistics, and on-site support during disasters or high-need events

Collaborate with Regional Managers and Operations teams to identify service gaps, support Northern outreach expansion, and pilot innovative service models
Set up For Success

Validation of Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) eligible to work in Ontario
-
5+ years of clinical experience (mobile, shelter, or high-volume spay/neuter preferred)
-
Experience working with underserved, remote, or Indigenous communities
-
Demonstrated experience coordinating volunteer teams in mobile or community clinic settings
-
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
-
Knowledge of CVO requirements and regulatory compliance
-
Ability to travel frequently, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in mobile and outdoor environments
