RWDI has a permanent full-time employment opportunity for an Air Quality Engineer/Scientist in the Air Quality team based in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Key Responsibilities
This technical role includes but is not limited to:
- Planning and completing technical aspects of assigned projects, including data collection, analysis, and ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed.
- Conducting air dispersion modelling and meteorological data processing
- Conducting engineering and scientific estimation calculations for emission rates
- Supporting greenhouse gas verifications and emission inventory development/reporting
- Working to strict schedules and project milestones while maintaining product quality
- Writing technical reports that present methodology, results and recommendations
- Performing site visits and participating in client meetings
- Complying with all applicable health and safety procedures and guidelines
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related engineering/science disciplines
- Familiarity with air dispersion modelling, emission inventories, greenhouse gas verifications, and/or ambient data analysis
Candidates should also possess:
- Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on a number of projects at once and successfully meet deadlines
- Strong people and team skills
- Drive to continuously improve processes and enhance efficiency
- Exceptional organizational capabilities and a methodical approach
- Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and other project requirements
Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:
- AERMOD and CALPUFF dispersion modelling
- Greenhouse gas quantification or verification
- Command line programming in Linux
- Basic understanding of programming in R, Python and Excel VBA
