Patient Watch - Hospitals - Full Time OnCall
While conducting a Patient Watch you would be responsible for monitoring the safety, security, and confidentiality of patients who present a danger to themselves, or others. This position requires an individual who can provide superior customer service and professionalism while carrying out the functions of the job. This job requires applicants to be able to work both day and overnight shifts. This position may require long periods of sitting.
We are looking for individuals in the Ponoka area who are willing to work on-demand and pick up shifts on short notice. Shifts may come available in Ponoka and surrounding rural areas within a 500 km radius. A valid class 5 drivers license and a willingness to travel to other hospital locations in your own vehicle is required. We will reimburse mileage at company rates.
Candidates must have open availability including a willingness to work weekends and overnight shifts.
Successful applicants will need to attend a Security Training course provided through Paladin Security. First Aid certification is also required, those successful applicants who do not currently possess this certification will have the training provided through Paladin Security.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor the patient’s overall safety and report any changes to security and/or hospital staff
- Ensure the safety of all stakeholders, including patients, clinical staff and visitors with de-escalation techniques
- Log and report all incidents reported by hospital staff, physicians, patients or visitors and maintain a detailed log of all patient interactions
- Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities
- Communicate in a truthful and receptive manner under all circumstances
- Must stay alert at all times
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Develop thorough site knowledge, and maintain professional relationships with sites and hospital staff
- Handle private and confidential information with a high amount of discretion
- Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner
